Game Date

So we are about to have the release of the first new major Clancy game in what? 5 years. Ghost Recon is finally back.  Is there no community event planned?  This is one of the fundamental franchises that led down the path to Zero Commit which led to VGO.  Don't you think some kind of release party game night with the hosts is in order here?  A night of fun to bring into a proper round table discussion?

I'm in. Let's do this.

I just double checked at Amazon to see if I preordered it. LOL! I placed my preorder in July 2010. Man, this game was announced two years ago.

Yeah they've been pushing it back for months (if not years). Holding off on preordering till I get my $10 credit from Max Payne 3 next week, then I'm in. Can't wait.

The game comes out on Tuesday May22,  I took off the following Wednesdsay.  Anyone out there should jump on after the Live VGO show and then lets do some Coffee and Co-Op in the morning!

I think the long wait and delays is what makes a release more exciting.  Having the yearly CoD or Madden release with little added to each itteration has just become a very ho hum model.  It's like listening to an albumn too much, you get sick of it.  But take a long break and then listen and you remember how good it is.  Think about how exciting it was to get a new Elder Scrolls game or a new Zelda game.  Not only does the wait just allow a nice down period, it allows the devs to really polish up somehting new and awesome.

I'm very excited to be in Tom Clancy World again.

I agree. Felt GRAW 2 was a little too soon after GRAW 1, especially since we were getting Rainbow 6 releases around then too.

I love that they put in the production value to make that.  It's also on the xbox live market place and streams in HD if you want to watch on a big TV with surround sound.  Awesome! 

The launch trailer of single player game looks really exciting too. I love that they are going back to more stealth and making it like a squad based Splinter Cell type game.  It's all about being Ghosts after all!  Way excited.

Cool. Hope my Trials times live up to my reputation but doubt they will - haven't put a lot of time into the game recently. My copy of Ghost Recon has been delivered so I should be already to join y'all tonight.

The fun has started! Level 4 rifleman, tweaked my ACR with fixed stock and a compensator for reduced recoil and a red dot. Few server drops, but nothing surprising. Should still be around later!

Save for the fact I couldn't join any games and no one could join me, had a pretty fun time tonight in both the single and multiplayer. Hopefully that bug gets worked out. Looking forward to playing more (and with friends).

Yea that sucked Gadget.  You NAT is all open right?  After 11 there were 4 0C people in a room playing,  I couldn't make it much later than 12:30 though.  I got dropped one last time and called it a night.  We stayed in game chat the whole night too, rather than keeping to a party.  One thing I noticed here is that if you get a team talking, everyone will start to chime in and the experience becomes so much better.

I would love to get another Community event going.  Maybe not on a Live show night or so late for every one.

So you are the only person from these forums that got this at launch?  Geez, what is going on in the gaming world   Recon and Rainbow were the titles that used to capture everyones attention.
